2024 TEXART FAIR

Fabrics are one craft that plays an essential role in our social, cultural, political and economic phases. Traditional textiles, which are locally designed, woven, and dyed clothes, have remained long-practised crafts by our people because of their wide acceptance.

Traditional textiles have continued to enjoy wide acceptance and patronage because of their unique designs and aesthetics. Besides, they serve as a means of identity across diverse regions. They equally become unifying factors for our people. In some parts of Nigeria today, traditionally organized cultural, traditional and religious festivals and ceremonies cannot hold without them. Also, they remained a great way to showcase and preserve our rich customs, norms, and cultural and traditional heritage. And a great source of livelihood for millions.

TEXART FAIR2024 is a 3-day-long fair and exhibition targeted at key players in diverse textile, art and crafts design and productions. It is an initiative of Blackulheritage Studios in collocation with the National Commission of Museums and Monuments. There shall be varieties of activities which include; Exhibitions (Market space), Workshops, Competition, Interactive session, Paper presentation, celebration of art icons, Music/dance and live theatre performances.
